There was a wonderful atmosphere in Kilcoyne Park on Friday evening with our U14s in action on the main pitch and our u6/8/10s showing great skills and determination on the back pitch against neighbours Curry and Cloonacool.
Thanks to everyone who helped out on the evening, from the coaches, officials to those who prepared and served refreshments. A special word of thanks to first time refs Conor Gavigan, Diarmaid Henry, Michael Clifford, Liam Skeffington and Ciaran Skeffington. Well done to all, Wonderful community spirit.
Our U14 footballers battled to a hard earned victory against Coolera/Strandhill. It was 1-5 a piece at half time but goals early in the 2nd half gave a little bit of breathing space. It took some wonderful defending in the last quarter to keep out a Coolera onslaught but we just about prevailed on a scoreline of 4-7 to 1-12. They will play Enniscrone in the final.

Congratulations to Tubbercurry GAA U12 hurler Niamh Brouder who won Gold in Sligo Community Games Long Puck competition for Tubbercurry/Cloonacool on Saturday and will represent Sligo at the national finals in August.
Our U14 feile ladies had a wonderful weekend in Cavan. Even though the results didn’t go their way they thoroughly enjoyed the experience and would like to thank their hosts Gowna for their hospitality. They would also like to thank their sponsors and it was wonderful to see them visit each sponsor before they departed to thank them. A ‘Thank You’ goes a long way.
Best of luck to Sligo seniors, minors and ladies who are in action during the week. The talent is there. Lets hope that the will to win is far greater than the fear of losing.
