KILCOYNE PARK DEVELOPMENT

As we approach the completion of phase one of our development plan for the park, we would like to update the community on our progress to date and plans for the next phase.

Phase One

2019
Appointment of John O’Hara as Engineer for the project.
• Replacement of spectator stand roof
• Main pitch sanded and verti-drained
• Power washing and painting of stand and dressing rooms

2020
Curran Contracts appointed as main contractor to develop a sand based playing surface on pitch 2.
• Drainage of pitch 2
• Regrading of playing surface
• Installation of sand playing surface

2021
Seeding of new playing surface in the coming weeks will complete phase one, which has been funded through the Department of Transport, Tourism, Sport (Sports Capital Grant) and the The National Lottery. Supported by our club fundraising efforts – The OsKaRs and our weekly 50/50 draw.

Phase Two

We have been approved funding by Sligo Leader Partnership for the next phase, which includes:
• Ducting & Lighting Bases
• Flood Lighting
• Installation of Walking/ Running Track

Phase two is kindly funded by Sligo Leader Partnership Company Ltd, Sligo County Council, LCDC, The European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development, Department of Rural and Community Development and Project Ireland 2040. Supported by our club fundraising efforts – our weekly 50/50 draw and pitch advertising.
